A national-level symposium on the impact of toxic agrochemicals on women and children was held at the Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute on 6th of December with the participation of around 70 individuals.
Professor Kamal Gammanpila, who has conducted extensive research on kidney diseases and pesticides, Dr. Keerthi Mohotti, former Director of the Tea Research Institute, Dr. Jeevani Marasinghe, Chief Agricultural Scientist at the Office of the Registrar of Pesticides, Devika Kodithuwakku, Chairperson of the Government Family Health Services Officers' Association, and Fasil Mohamed, Project Manager of the LOAM organization, shared their insights during the event.
