Digitalization of Agriculture: What are the benefits and disadvantages?

A group of women, together with government sector stakeholders in the Monaragala District, gathered to discuss the digitalization of agriculture. The discussion covered areas such as access, current usage, and the perceived impact of digitalization on their daily lives and agricultural operations. The participants also explored barriers and various forms of the digital divide they experience. Recommendations from the discussion were documented. Among the negative impacts highlighted were financial burdens, misuse of technology, social isolation resulting from technology, as well as environmental and health concerns.
