As part of the UNFPA and Alliance Development Fund, Vikalpani implemented the Enhancing Women Farmers’ Economic Leadership through Developing Seed Banks project from November 2024 to February 2025. Vikalpani launched its seed products and other agro-based goods produced by women farmers in Monaragala at a national event held at the BMICH. Through the exhibition of stories, Vikalpani was able to share the perspectives of women farmers with ministers, the Head of UNFPA, other delegates, and the public.
Through this project, Vikalpani could enhance the capacities of the women farmers who are affiliated with the Vikalpani seed producing and marketing society, and develop the infrastructure of the seed producing farmlands and the society to expand the production and marketing of the local seeds.
